TIN CAN BAY GOLF RESULTS FOR THE TWO WEEKS ENDING 22nd JANUARY 2012

Tuesday was too wet for the Veterans to play.

Neville Anderson had 34 ½ to win Thursday’s 9 Hole Competition, 2nd Steve McSweeney, 3rd Graeme Wigley, 4th Peter Coppin, 5th Peter Hayward , 6th Mark Lumby, 7th Leo Tate, and 8th John Gordon (39). Col McKay won the putting with 12 while Neville Anderson held the Division I Pin Shot on the 13th and Graeme Wigley was on the Division II Pin Shot. The ball rundown went to 40.

In Friday’s Chicken Run Graham Neill had 31 to win from Shane Anderson, Peter Cahill, Brian Greig, Monty Avotin, Dennis James, Lyn Harris, Daniel Johannsen, Bob Staer, Scott McGee, P. Brady, Phil DeLaCruz, Jack Frost, and Peter Cox (all Chook winners).

On Saturday the club provided vouchers for the Single Stableford event. Kevin Hammond had a good 44 to win the Men’s from Jeff Almond who had 41 while Chris Harvey won the 3 way c/b on 33 to be the Ladies winner. Pin Shots: 5th Graham Farrell, 7th Robin Nelms with a great HOLE IN ONE – CONGRATULATIONS, 9TH Bob Staer, 13th Tim Major, Men’s 2nd on the 2nd Scott Carne and Ladies 3rd on 6th Laurel Edwards. There were 85 in the field and the ball rundown went to - Men’s 33 and Ladies 31.

Despite the threat of rain 63 turned up to play in Sunday’s Single Stroke event. Daniel Johannsen had 67 to be the Men’s winner while Danny Grant was the runner up on 70 (after a c/b). The Ladies winner was Cherie Kirby on 76. Pin Shots: 5th Gordon Smith, 7th & 13th Shane Anderson, 9th Peter Nordstrom, 11th Robert Downman, Men’s 2nd on 12th Barry Hudson & Ladies 3rd on 1st Sue Portch. The ball rundown went to 75 for the Men and 77 for the Ladies.

Next Saturday is a Single Stableford event and Sunday is a 4BBB Stableford. The Annual Australia Day event is on Thursday (26th) – the Club is providing lots of trophies including long drives and pin shots - everybody is welcome – time sheet for the 18 hole event is in the Club House.
